A Crochet Bag

So the saga continues. This was made as part of the crochet frenzy after learning how to crochet flowers. Basically everything is on youtube, and most patterns are made up of the same few stitches. The idea is to focus and not lose count ;) Which strangely for me, is relaxing, because I can shut out noise when I’m mentally focussing on the stitches :)

There are loads of free patterns on the internet, and once you get the hang of it, you can even write your own. But not all patterns are made equal, the best ones are like this Free Crochet Pattern – Bobble-licious Bag by Speckless. It was easy to understand, with a great diagram as well as a written description of the basic stitches required. I understood the bobble stitch better reading her instructions than watching it on youtube. And this was the result…

The flower was actually not done by me. I bought it from Daiso and it’s only one of a two piece set! The other piece being a pink ribbon which I can save for another project. When my husband saw it, he remarked, why crochet your own when you can get it so cheap. Guys don’t understand these things…..

There was also a link on her blog on how to sew in a fabric lining. The tutorial is by  Future Girl. I went one step further and created a lining for the strap as well, as my kids were already stretching the wool of the handle and i thought it would give it some additional strength. They’ve been using it to cart around lego, play food, blocks and of course for dressing up their outfit when going out!

Gah! This is so beautiful and well done! I am in the process of gathering some photos of this bag (and other completed projects from my site), and am hoping I can feature this photo in a future post at my blog (?). Let me know if that’s okay!

    Again, beautiful work!
